RedCompass RedFlag Accelerator sponsors UK’s Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner research project

10 Jun 2020

We are delighted to announce that RedCompass will be a sponsor of the industry-wide research project promoted by The UK’s Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner.

The project conducted by Themis and TRIBE Freedom Foundation is aimed at providing more insights on modern slavery and human trafficking (MSHT) risks across the financial industry and come up with practical steps and recommendations for Financial Institutions (FIs).

The initiative, that will be developed over a 6-month period, will explore FI’s current set up to prevent being a conduit of MSHT risks and will look at what banks can do beyond their operations activity to prevent them.

All the partners recognise the lack of clear and detailed guidance on how FIs can address these risks across all their operations and agree on the need of a sector-wide response.

The project for an agenda to prevent MSHT across the financial sector is perfectly aligned with RedCompass RedFlag Accelerator efforts to help banks accelerate the search for MSHT traces in their systems.

If you wish to support this project, please visit Themis website and take part in the survey here.
